Python Job: Senior Python Data Developer

Job Overview:

We are seeking to hire a skilled Python and Data Developer to help with the development of our current projects. Your duties will primarily revolve around building data-driven software applications based on Python and developing high performance databases and designing well structured database schemas using MS SQL Server and MySQL. Responsibilities will also include modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new, specifications to improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces. You will also be involved in directing system testing and validation procedures, and also working with customers or departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance. To be successful in this role, you will need extensive knowledge of common modern programming languages and frameworks including Python, JavaScript (Node.js) and the software development life cycle. You will also require extensive knowledge of database development and schema design using MS SQL Server and MySQL. You will also be required to have a good understanding of HTML5 and the Bootstrap HTML/JS/CSS framework.

Responsibilities:

• Building data-driven software applications based on Python, JavaScript (Node.js) and HTML5 (Boostrap)
• Developing high performance databases and designing well structured database schemas using MS SQL Server and MySQL
• Modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces.
• Directing system testing and validation procedures.
• Directing software programming and documentation development.
• Consulting with departments or customers on project status and proposals.
• Working with customers or departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
• Analyzing information to recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications of an existing system.
• Consulting with engineering staff to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements.
• Designing and developing software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and design consequences.
• Preparing reports on programming project specifications, activities, or status.
• Conferring with project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Possession of a post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of the Python and JavaScript (Node.js) programming languages / frameworks
• Strong knowledge of database development and schema design using MS SQL Server and MySQL
• Strong knowledge of HTML5 UI development using the Bootstrap framework
• Strong knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language).
• Good expertise in software development methodologies
• The desire to work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to develop unit testing of code components or complete applications.
• Creativity is always a plus.
• Possession of a problem-solving attitude.
• Must be a full-stack developer and understand concepts of software engineering.
• Experience working on a variety of software development projects.
• Deep programming language knowledge.
• Analyze code and communicate detailed reviews to development teams to ensure a marked improvement in applications and the timely completion of projects.
• Collaborate with team members to improve the company’s engineering tools, systems and procedures, and data security.
• Develop and maintain design and troubleshooting documentation.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.

Note: This job will begin as a 3 month contract. Upon successful completion of the 3 month term there will be opportunity for transition into a permanent full-time role with our firm.
